Direct admission to Punjab Technical University (PTU) for BTech may be available through management quotas or lateral entrance options, depending on the university's policies. Typically, candidates must achieve strict eligibility requirements, such as passing the Class 12 tests with a minimum aggregate score in relevant courses. Direct admission under management quotas frequently includes reserved seats based on criteria such as merit or the payment of additional fees. Prospective students should contact PTU's admissions office directly for more information on eligibility, procedures, and the availability of direct admission alternativ

Yes, the university offers direct admission to BTech courses. It is generally done for the vacant seats on a first-come-first-serve basis. Hence, direct admission opens for only a few BTech programmes. The students have to visit the main campus of Kapurthala to seek admission. In addition, a registration fee of INR 1,000 also has to be deposited, which is non-refundable. But, if the student gets admission, then it is adjusted in the first semester.
