Dear aspirant, Glad to meet you. Yes you can get direct admission through Lateral Entry. Direct admission to Engineering 2nd year is possible through Lateral Entry, for Diploma in Engineering students. Students who have completed 3 years Diploma course can take direct admission in engineering second year. There are many undergraduate and post-graduation courses in India, in which you get admission through letter entry. There are very limited options as many colleges do not take direct admission in the 2nd year.

You cannot get admission in the 2nd year after completing Diploma. The eligibility depends on the type of course that you wish to pursue.
The details of some courses are stated below:
    1. Diploma: Class 10th pass from a recognized board with minimum 40% marks.
    2. Bachelor's degree: Class 12th pass with at least 50% marks.
    3. Post-graduation degree: Bachelor's degree from a recognized university with at least 45% marks.
Graduate and PG programs may also require you to appear for entrance exams such as NCHMCT, AIMA UGAT, E-CHAT, etc.
