Yes, you can get direct admission in the 2nd year of BR or B.Tech through the lateral entry, but for getting good colleges you should have to qualify the entrance exam.

Yes, you can get direct admission into second year BE after completing diploma it is called lateral entry. You can get into second year engineering either by giving common entrance test or by management quota paying lakhs of rupees.
