Can I get direct admission to B.Tech based on my 12th marks? I have 74.2% in both matriculation and intermediate.

<p>Whereas competitive entrance-based route of admission to B.Tech (through JEE Main), is the mainstream method to get admission to the best government-owned institutes (IITs, NITs), but direct through Class 11th/12th marks-based admissions prevail in most of the university, institutes that belong to the private sector and a few government-owned institutes (deemed-to-be) universities. Since you have 74.2 (both matriculation and intermediate), you are the eligible candidate to get into many of such institutions. Institutional level Direct admissions or high weightage to 12th marks are common in colleges such as Manipal University Jaipur, Chandigarh University, UPES Dehradun, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, VIT Vellore (in management quota), Amity University, and a few deemed universities</p>
