Admission to JNU BA Hons courses is based on merit in CUET-UG, conducted by NTA. Selected candidates also have to participate in the counselling for seat allotment.Candidates seeking admission to B.A. (Hons.) in JNU have to appear for CUET (UG). They are required to opt for Section IA – English Test and Section III – General Test for admission in JNU.The counselling procedure is carried out by Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JOSAA) and Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) (later stages). No, direct admission to JNU BA (Hons) courses is not available. Admission to JNU BA (Hons) courses is based on merit in the CUET-UG exam conducted by NTA. Candidates must apply for the national-level exam, pass it with a good score, and participate in the counseling for seat allotment to be eligible for admission

Yes, JNU also offers lateral entry admission to the second year of the BA (Hons) programme. Candidates who are willing to seek admission need to possess the first year of a bachelor's degree from a recognised institute/ university with a minimum of 45% aggregate. Additionally, it is also necessary that the relevant documents are presented such as the bachelor’s degree first-year mark sheet along with other educational certificates.
