It depends on the course in which the student is interested. Siliguri Institute of Technology offers various courses in the fields of Engineering, Science, Computer Science, Management, and Hospitality. Admission to the BTech, BMLT, UG Diploma, MCA, MBA, and, BHMCT course at the college is done based on the scores obtained in the JEE Main, JENPAS UG, JEXPO, WBJEE JECA, MAT, and WBJEE exams respectively. Admission to all other courses such as BSc, BBA, etc. is done directly based on the scores obtained in the previous qualifications. However, there some seats resereved in each course for direct admission under the Management quota.

There are some programs like BHM (Bachelor of Hotel Management) with direct admission, and you can get a seat to that course by scoring better in MAKAUT CET. For some other programs, there could be some common entrance tests conducted to admit students directly. Yet, most B.Tech programs are on the basis of entrance tests like WBJEE or JEE Main, then counseling comes into the scenario.

Direct contact with SIT and its official website would result in the best and the freshest information available.

    Hi,

For some courses at Siliguri Institute of Technology (SIT), direct admission is an option. For instance, direct admission is available for the BHM (Bachelor of Hotel Management) programme, which is based on the results of the MAKAUT CET (Common Entrance Test). Furthermore, for the academic year 2022–2023, SIT has scheduled internal common entrance exams for direct admission in a number of streams.

However, admission to the majority of B.Tech programmes is determined by the results of entrance tests such as WBJEE or JEE Main.

    Thanks
