TISS does not provide direct admission. All applicants must satisfy the eligibility requirements and engage fully in the authorised admissions procedure. TISS usually conducts its own exam for admission,i.e., TISSNET. However, TISSNET has been canceled for 2024. The institute will now accept CUET entrance exam for admission. A critical step in the selection process for these programmes is the Personal Interview (PI) round. During the PI, candidates' motivation, aptitude, and potential for the programme they have applied to are often evaluated through a series of questions.

There is no direct admission offered by TISS. Each applicant must meet the eligibility prerequisites and participate completely in the approved admission process. Typically, TISS administers its own admissions exam, known as TISSNET. TISSNET, however, has been shelved for 2024. The CUET entrance exam will now be accepted by the institution for admission. the Personal Interview (PI) round is a crucial stage in the selection process for these programs. Candidate's ability, motivation, and potential for the programme they applied to are generally assessed at the PI through a series of questions.
