I am a student of VIT, Chennai campus. Yes, 4907 is an excellent score. You can easily get mechanical engineering in Vellore campus as well as scholarship. Please find out about the scholarship part, they have some criteria for it. But from what I know, you can get a scholarship. -

Firstly, congratulations on securing a rank below 5,000. VIT has called those students who have rank up to 20,000 for counseling. I am sure with your rank, you will get admission in the branch of your choice.
