I have done mechanical engineering. I scored 610 marks in GATE exam.

It all depends on your caliber. Being an IITian, everyone is going to believe that you have done something good in academics so you will have a good chance to get a good firm after doing M.Tech from IIT-Roorkee. -

IIT Roorkee is under top IITs. Its placement is very good specially it is more famous for civil engineering. For civil engineering, it is considered as number one in the country.
