Can I get the details of physiotherapy degree in LPU?

Lovely Professional University offers BPT and MPT under Physiotherapy, BPT and MPT is approved by IAP ( Indian Association of Physiotherapy), moreover LPU has its own hospital in which you can have practical knowledge of the same. This builds up the confidence of the student and make them more familiar with their work. My brother is pursuing BPT course from LPU. He has shared few things with me:- LPU also has a good placement cell of this department which is not at all fake. Students can attain positions in sports training centers, health and fitness centers, hospitals, physiotherapy & rehabilitation centres, spastic societies and special schools. Opportunities also include pursuing higher studies in reputed universities in India and abroad. Students can also avail jobs in health insurance and medical coding companies. Strong emphasis is laid on the theoretical and practical aspects of physiotherapy and healthcare through courses on clinical. Not only Physiotherapy students are also offered by subjects like communication, analytical and soft skills to enhance personality and employability which is also important simultaneously LPU has art labs such as such as orthopaedic physiotherapy, general medicine, electrotherapy, neurology provide hands on learning to the students. Full term internship in reputed hospitals and multi-specialty hospitals orients students with the real time work atmosphere and helps improvise their professional skills required to establish themselves as physicians and consultants. LPU BPT students also organised a three day treatment camp for patients of adjoining regions in a bid to provide cost effective treatment to them. A team of 15 students and 4 doctors from LPU remained on duty for the entire duration of camp wherein more than 60 patients were treated for various physical ailments. LPU provide the innovative and practice based teaching to the students. Workshops, Guest Lectures, Clinical Training, Physiotherapy camps and Lab experiments enrich the practical knowledge of student. The school is well efficient in providing expertise exposure in both Academics and Clinical Training with optimally distributed hours for both. Department of physiotherapy is arranging Different types of hands-on workshops on a regular basis for the maximum practical exposure to the students.

The physiotherapy department at LPU has the distinction of being approved by the Indian Association of Physiotherapist (IAP) and it is one of the few institutes in North India having specialty labs of Neurological rehabilitation, Orthopaedic Rehabilitation & Sports medicine, Cardiopulmonary rehabilitation & Paediatrics rehabilitation. LPU has a well-equipped Physiotherapy OPD in SBRM Hospital, LPU, Phagwara. The students are getting exposure during their internships in various hospitals like Sir Ganga ram, Medhanta Medicity Fortis Hospital, Escorts Hospital, Max Hospital, Apollo Hospital, Jindal Group of Hospitals, Ivy Hospital, International & National Sports Teams, NIMHANS PGIMR, CMC, and DMC all over India. Guest lectures are planned regularly on recent and advanced treatment approaches of physiotherapy to enhance student learning processes as co-curricular activities. I remember, even during my study, some of the students from the UK did their internship in the LPU physiotherapy department. They interacted with the patients and gave positive feedback to the department. Thanks.

Dear Sakshi, LPU is good for the physiotherapy degree programme. My friend did BPT there and now working in a hospital. Some of the placement highlights are: Students of LPU have been recruited as consultant physiotherapists in reputed multi-specialty hospitals like Fortis, Apollo, Medanta, Ivy and, Sri Ganga Ram Hospital. Portea and Health Care at Home did on-campus recruitment of our students. Dr. Kanika Markan was placed as Senior Physiotherapist at Medanta Mediciti Gurgaon. Dr. Shefali Kalpushu was placed as Senior Physiotherapist at Blue cross sapphire care, Melbourne Working as Senior Physiotherapist at Blue Cross Sapphire care, which is a first-class residential and community care center in Melbourne for its aged care services.
