International students may be eligible for a post-graduation work permit (PGWP) if they are graduated from a designated learning institution (DLI) and want to stay in Canada temporarily to work. The designate learning institutions in Canada are the only institutions of higher learning that are allowed to teach international students. However, graduation from a DLI doesn’t automatically make you eligible for a PGWP. The duration of the course should be at least eight months for you to obtain a PGWP permit in Canada.
