Can I go for hardware or software field?
I am preparing for engineering entrance exam.

Well, depends on your interest really. Software and IT field is more widely present and hence might prove relatively easy to find jobs. Hardware sector, I would advise to shortlist the firms to work with, even if startups, take up internships and then follow it up with full time job.
