Can I join marines or navy after completing a B.Com?

I am afraid that you cannot join Merchant Navy. Only the Science stream students are eligible for job in Merchant Navy. But since you have completed graduation in commerce, it closes all doors for you. The candidate who has completed 12th standard with Physics, Chemistry and Maths is eligible for job. He can directly apply for deck cadet job after completing 12th or wait and continue with the studies. Those who are interested in officer level jobs continue with the studies and pursue either Marine Engineering or Nautical Science course. Unfortunately, commerce students are not eligible. Indian Navy recruits commerce graduates in Logistics Cadre under Short Service Commission and Permanent Commission both. You need to take an examination called CDS (Combined defense service examination) which is conducted by Union Public Service Commission twice in a year.

Indian Navy recruits commerce graduates in Logistics Cadre under Short Service Commission and Permanent Commission both. You need to take an examination called CDS (Combined defence service examination) which is conducted by Union Public Service Commission twice in a year. The age limitation is 19-25 years. Height should be at least 157 cm. Weight should be in proportion to the height. One should have at least 55% marks in B.Com. Male candidates are eligible for both types of commissioning but female candidates are eligible for Short Service Commission only. The executive class job is offered in logistics cadre. Also, you should refer to the employment news weekly to get the updates. The selection procedure for Indian Army, Indian Air Force, and Indian Navy is done through campus interviews. There is one entry called UES (University Entry Scheme) and in this entry, first of all, you have to fill one application form which comes out in the month of September. Only the pre-final year candidates of graduation (Engineering) are eligible to appear for the same. The army personnel will come to your college and they will take one small interview of yours and within next one month they will declare the results and then you have to go directly for the SSB interview. The candidates selected are given a seniority of one year. You can get the application form for this entry from your college's placement office. In that pre-SSB interview, they will just ask simple questions and they will find out that if you are fit for the defence forces or not. The call letter of SSB will come to you in the final year of graduation in the month of October and SSB will take place in the month of December in the final year.
