Can I join merchant navy after completing my B.Tech in marine engineering, I have a tattoo on my left hand?

What if I go under a surgery to remove the tattoo?

    Yes, tattoo is not a problem. However, there will be a medical exam by a DG shipping approved doctor prior your joining any merchant navy course to ascertain medical fitness.
