The WB National University of Juridical Sciences does not offer direct admission. Candidates need to qualify the accepted entrance exams for admission. The university considers CLAT score for admission to BA LLB (Hons), BSc LLB (Hons) and LLM courses. NLU Kolkata conducts an entrance test for admission to LLD, MSc and PhD courses. Selected candidates need to participate in the counselling round for admission.

- CLAT Seats (General/OBC/SC/ST/PWD etc.) Admissions are based on the ranking obtained by the student in the entrance exam conducted by CLAT Consortium
- Foreign Nationals Category Seats Admissions are based on as per the marks/grades obtained in the 10+2 or equivalent examination.
- NRI/NRI Sponsored Category Seats
- J&K residents Category Seats
