State-level university Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith was founded in 1921 and is also known as MGKVP Varanasi. Additionally, the university belongs to the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). There are three campuses there: the Bhairav Talab campus, the NTPC campus, and the Gangapur campus. The university has 10 faculty members, four constituent institutions, and more than 30 departments at its Varanasi campus in addition to these sites. Additionally, it has about 350 associated colleges dispersed throughout six districts: Varanasi, Chandauli, Bhadohi, Mirzapur, Sonbhadra, and Ballia.
