Of course, For admission to state engineering colleges, you may have to clear lateral entry admission tests conducted by the state to become eligible for lateral entry admissions direct to the third semester of B.Tech programme. If you wish to be loyal to your stream of study you may opt for B.Tech in Mechanical engineering, Mechatronics or Automobile Engineering.

You are eligible to seek admission in B.Tech CSE lateral entry into 2nd year on engineering after Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. You can evaluate Manipal Institute of Technology for B.Tech CSE.
