Can I opt for the CA foundation course after dropping out of my engineering program? I am in the 1st year of my engineering program.

<p>Yes.</p><p>Accounting, Law and Taxation, to a large extent, are subjects with finite and precise fundamentals. An engineer, according to my humble opinion, is in a position to score good marks in CA exams. I know a couple of them personally. They are earning envious packages now.</p><p>A student from engineering background needs to do the following:</p><p>Take tuition for practical subjects. The initial 3&ndash;6 months are crucial to understand the fundamentals - beyond that it is the sincerity of the student in regularly solving the problems that will ensure good marks;</p><p>Read, read and read the theoretical subjects. After the initial few weeks of mental lethargy, the grasping speed increases significantly.</p><p>If you fail in a couple of attempts, do not lose heart. CA is very much doable - just analyse your tactics/ strategy, weakness/ strengths and attempt the exam again.</p>
