Can I prepare for CAT exam by just doing self-study? I haven't joined any classes like TIME.

Hello!
Yes, one can crack an entrance exam like CAT without joining any coaching institute provided one is disciplined and honest enough in his/her studying efforts on a regular basis. Though joining a coaching class is any day helpful, it is not necessary. One can buy books of reputed authors like Arun Sharma, Sarvesh Verma, etc. to strengthen the basics and practice a variety of questions. Then, one can move on to buy mocks of various reputed sources like TIME, IMS, etc. Wish you good luck! -
Cracking CAT without coaching is a bit difficult task. I would suggest you to work dedicatedly if you are planning on studying on your own. Try to study approximately 6 hours a day. Try to solve questions based on the syllabus. Read Hindu newspaper editorials. Also, try to seek guidance from someone who has cracked CAT before. Also, there are a lot of mock tests on the internet, try to attend them with the best of your preparation. Always be focused and dedicated and do your best.
