Can I prepare for JEE Mains after a gap of one year?

My basics of class 9th and 10th were not clear. So, I could not study in class 11th properly, but I did very well in class 12th while facing difficulties due to unclear basics.

Yes you have better to opt long term for preparing for JEE Mains as you are taking gap of one year. We can have 3 attempts for JEE Mains. With in that 3 attempts you have to clear the Mains exam.
