    Obviously, you can do B.Tech after completing your diploma. There are also various engineering colleges offering Lateral Entry for diploma holders.

    Prathap, you definitely can go for B.Tech IT after diploma electrical as syllabus for Ist year is same for all the branches and specializations start from IInd year onward only.
    You can go for B.Tech lateral entry I.e.direct admission in IInd year of B.Tech. For lateral entry either give LEET or opt for good private universities where admission is based on their own tests or marks in diploma. They offer world class environment to students along with good placements. Some even offer good scholarships to students.
