Hello,
I understand and appreciate your interest in pursuing software engineering. You can pursue Diploma in computer science and then switch to B.Tech in software engineering as the syllabus is the same for both the courses. Only in the third year of B.Tech, the syllabus slightly varies, wherein, computer science students have to study some subjects related to the computer hardware.

Software engineering is the application of engineering to the development of software in a systematic method. Every CS engineer is trained in software engineering during graduation and post graduation degrees. No polytechnic offers Diploma in software engineering. You can choose either Diploma in computer science or Diploma in computer engineering and then take lateral entry admission in B.Tech in software engineering.
