I think the eligibility criteria for taking CAT requires 60% in 12th for general candidates. For SC candidates, you might get some relief for which you need to consult the CAT website

Yes why not. Prepare for CAT with all your hard work and interviews there after. Start preparing early to have extra edge for good scores.
