Can I pursue my higher studies in Germany if I have a gap of few years? Is it necessary to give the explanation for the gap?

There is no specific policy on gap years at German universities. Selection in German Universities is based on your overall academic performance. If you have any gap years in your studies you must have good reasons to explain in interviews if asked by interviewer.
