A normal track would be to complete the M Tech and then proceed to do a PhD. But some IITs, TIFR and many deemed universities offer Integrated PhD of not less than 5 years duration for which you must qualify GATE or equivalent.

B.Tech is a graduation, you have to complete Master or post Graduation level and then M.Phil is also a step, ADMISSION ELIGIBILITY:
A candidate is eligible for Admission and Registration for Ph.D. programme provided he/ she has qualified:
