Can I retake my exams if I am absent for one in Madras University?

Asked about Guru Nanak College - Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.)

I am in the second semester and was unable to appear for one exam. Will I be allowed to rewrite it, if so will it be considered an arrear exam?
