In an open or distance learning university, a student has choice of selecting any branch. However a word of caution. UGC has not allowed any professional courses to be run via distance education. Hello Manasa Sahithya, as far as my understanding and information goes, presently no university is allowed to offer engineering graduation courses by way of correspondence course. You can check with registrar of your intended university about this to clarify further. Best wishes to you.
