Can I switch to marketing profile after 4.5 years of IT experience and join FMS? Will marketing companies shortlist me?

Dear Richa,
You will have complete independence to choose your specialization irrespective of your experience. It's true that some marketing companies prefer students with minimal work experience. But it is doesn't hold true for all Marketing companies.

In my opinion you can switch to any profile you like, provided you really want to pursue it. FMS being called as the marketing campus will offer you umpteen number of opportunities to develop your marketing skills. Once you have the desired knowledge base and the skills, the companies will shortlist you. You can take up marketing live projects, corporate competitions related to marketing once you get admission in FMS to prove your skills. Moreover, digital marketing is in trend these days and having an IT background will help you in that domain.
