For direct admissions or lateral entry to engineering second year, you have to pursue Diploma in any engineering branch which is a three years course and after that you can pursue engineering fir 3 years.

Hello Kannan,
The admissions into second year directly are called lateral entry in which mostly Diploma students can enroll. But IITs don't offer a lateral entry admission.
So, you cannot get admission into IITs in the second year.
