Can I take admission in food technology on basis of Diploma in mechanical engineering?

Hello Yashashree, Lateral admissions to 2nd year of engineering is restricted only to the relevant or related branch. But you can seek admission in 1st year in any branch if your state has recognized Diploma as equivalent to 12th.

You surely try taking admission in food biotechnology but it'll not be an advisable step because food biotechnology is mostly biology and chemistry whereas you have a background in mechanical. So I think mechatronics will be a better option for you. PS: food technology as a course is not available
