Can I take admission in IIT, Dhanbad for CSE or for mechanical in IIT, Guwahati?

As a student of IIT Guwahati, I can assure a healthy nice environment at IIT Guwahati as compared to Dhanbad. Same is the case when it comes to reputation. I would suggest taking CSE only if you are extremely oriented to the branch. At IIT Guwahati, you can also try for a branch change after 1st year. All the best.

As of day, CSE is a better option with respect to placement but the trend is changing very fast. Indian IT industry has started showing an early sign of decline. Mechanical is an evergreen branch of engineering. You must do engineering degree based on your interests.
