Few universities such as the IITs, IISc Bangalore, JNU, BHU, etc. provides direct admissions for the PhDs in certain departments or for students with high academic background. Such programs may in fact have their own pre-qualifications, particularly interviews and a detailed research proposal if not an actual research study.
