Can I take improvement exam in 12th even after surrendering my registration certificate to the board?

I have passed 10+2 this year and took migration certificate from the board by surrendering the registration certificate to get admission in another university. But due to some reason, I didn't take admission in other universities and have decided to take improvement exam. Will there be a problem?
