    The Bar Council of India (BCI), which is the regulatory body for legal education in India, currently does not permit the LL.B. Degree to be pursued through distance mode. As per the BCI's rules, LL.B. Education must be pursued only in regular mode from a recognised university or institution. However, some universities offer distance education programs in law, such as the B.A. LL.B. And the B.Com. LL.B. These programs are usually offered in collaboration with distance education institutions recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Distance Education Bureau (DEB).
