Yes, you are permitted to use a calculator, but only the one from the test. The on-screen calculator is provided on the computer-based GRE while the Quantitative Reasoning section is being administered. The paper-based GRE comes with a basic handheld calculator, which is provided by the test center. Personal calculators are prohibited. The on-screen calculator offered is basic, using such functions as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and square roots.
