As mentioned earlier, overseas students from outside Switzerland, the European Union, and the European Economic Area can take up employment for a maximum of 964 hours every year, i.e. 20 hours every week. But there are some exceptions as well. So, if you're an international student who has been in France for at least two years and has been pursuing higher education for at least one year, you might be permitted to work for more than 20 hours every week. In such a case you will have to get your visa status changed from a student visa to a work visa or temporary residence permit for jobs that allow compensation.
