Yes, as an international student at AUT, one can work part-time while studying. International students can work up to 20 hours a week during their studies and full-time during the scheduled holidays and / or during the Christmas and New Year holiday periods. A few of the popular part-time jobs in New Zealand are Tutor, Retail Sales Assistant, Lab Technician, Supermarket Assistant, etc.
