Yes, you can opt for GATE exam after AMIE as candidates with qualifications obtained through examinations conducted by professional societies recognised by UPSC/AICTE (e.g. AMIE by IE (I), AMICE (I) by the institute of Civil Engineers (India)-ICE (I) are eligible.
