Can M.Sc chemistry students apply for NET and SET exam?

Hello Gokul, Yes, an M.Sc chemistry student can apply for NET exam if he/she follows the guidelines of exam. Candidates can apply for the CSIR NET Exam in the subject which is related to their post-graduation subject. As your subject is Chemistry then you can apply CSIR NET Chemical Sciences. Candidates should have minimum 55% aggregate marks in Masters if they are from General/ OBC Category or if they belong to SC/ST/PwD categories they should have scored minimum 50% aggregate. To apply for the CSIR NET exam candidates maximum age should be 28 years. SC/ST/OBC/PwD/female applicants have up to 5 years relaxation in age criteria. For Assistant Professor, there is no upper age limit to apply. Yes, after M.Sc Chemistry course, you are eligible to apply for CSIR-NET Examination and to apply for this examination you need to complete your M.Sc. Or Equivalent degree with minimum 55% marks for General & OBC candidates. Final year Graduate candidates are also eligible to apply for NET Examination. The CSIR Test will be held in the subjects as given under - Chemical Sciences Earth Sciences Life Sciences Mathematical Sciences Physical Sciences. Age Eligiblity Criteria - For Lectureship Post, your minimum age should be 19 years and there is no upper age limit. For Junior Research Fellowship, Your age should between 19 to 28 years, Upper age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST/OBC Candidates.
