Can my friend get direct admission in LPU without giving LPU-NEST with 89.4% (CBSE) in class 12th?

As per the admissions 2020 The Eligibility for B.Tech is 60% in 10+2 with (English, Physics & Mathematics ) will have to appear in LPU NEST whereas those who have scored 90% in +2 or scored 90 percentile in JEE Mains are exempted from LPU NEST and moreover LPU has been ranked top 80 amongst all private and government institutions by NIRF, MHR, GOI. You can take admission as per the eligibility on the LPU website. The most important priorities of LPU is best quality of education and placements at great places. They follow these things and result is lot of deserved and eligible students got the best places. Moreover, LPU has Best Lifestyle and university Life.

Hi Rahul, Being an Education consultant, I anonymously did conversation with LPU officials many time over the phone. One thing I have learnt that they are very particular with the eligibility criteria. What's the matter of fact is that they will not allow your friend to get direct admission without qualifying in their exam LPU NEST if he is not having exactly 90% in 12th class. According to LPU, 90 means 90. 89.9% will not be acceptable. However according to me your friend has got very good percentage in 12th class due to any unfortunate reason he cannot be able to make 90% completely. He is intelligent enough to crack this exam efficiently with good score. In fact on the basis of his performance he might be able to announce his scholarship also. Try to all of this ask him to take provisional admission to confirm the seat. Online admissions are going on and for the maximum scholarship benefit ask him to proceed further as soon as possible. Hi, LPU offers more than 250+ courses and the eligibility is different for different courses. In some courses the admission is direct and in some, you have to qualify LPU NEST and in others Interview. So, kindly tell in which course you are interested in. Thanks.

Rahul, if you are talking about B.Tech, then no he can't have direct admission if he has less than 90%. He has to give LPUNEST. If he has given JEE and has scored 80 or more marks in it then Pass with 60% aggregate he can get admission without LPUNEST. The eligibility for B.Tech ismarks in 10+2 (with Physics, Mathematics and English) or equivalent, subject to qualifying LPUNEST-2017 [removed]void(0);or JEE (Main) Or In case marks scored in 10+2 are 90% or above, then LPUNEST-2017 or JEE (Main) will be exempted and candidate may apply for admission.

Hi Rahul it all depends on the programme that your friend is opting for. If he has opted for B Tech, Hons, B.Sc. BPT MLT, B.Pharma etc. Then he will have to appear for LPU NEST. It is mandatory. However, for BBA BCA B.A. B Comm programs, LPU NEST is not mandatory. He is a brilliant student. Tell him not to get scared of LPU NEST. LPU NEST is based on the last qualification. So it will not be hard to handle. Even if it is not mandatory, he should appear for LPU NEST because he may land up with a huge scholarship. Good Luck.

Hello, Choosing LPU for admission is one your good decision. Yes, You can get admission in LPU without LPU NEST but only in certain courses, where university does not include LPU NEST as a part of eligibility. You are suppose to fulfill the eligibility criteria, for the course. You will be glad to know that LPU has relaxed their eligibility criteria for 2020 batch due to COVID-19. LPU NEST conducted by LPU is basically an entrance and scholarship test which helps to fulfill the eligibility criteria as well as get the maximum scholarship. LPU NEST is mandatory for a few programmes which act as an entrance to get qualified for the admission, so if you are planning to choose such a programme then you will have to appear for LPU NEST. And in case if you do not seek any scholarship than you can get admission directly only in the programmes where LPU NEST is not mandatory. But why not to appear for the scholarship test and try to get the maximum scholarship of up to 50% and get the maximum fee benefits.
