Can my son get mechanical or aerospace engineering in SASTRA University? He scored 1123 in Tamil Nadu board exams and 49 in JEE Mains.

Hi,
Yes, there are good chances for him to get aerospace engineering and mechanical engineering but it also depends on the no. of applicants and the seats available.
As per his marks he can get a seat but the chances for getting a course is just a prediction right now.

I think you may get some NITs with the rank as per last year closing and opening ranks. You may refer :

But these vary each year and this will not be the same for this year also.

SASTRA University does not give admission on the basis of JEE Mains only. It also consider the board percent which should be 95 % and above or minimum 90 % and above.
And in Mains, 100 and above marks is required. They prepare their own merit list on the basis of 2 criteria:
