No, that is not true. All the defense forces have three modes of entry:-
1. Through NDA after 12th pass.
2. Through University scheme, where they come to college premise to shortlist probable candidates during 3rd or 4th year.
3. Through Combined Defense services (CDS) exams after graduation.
