Yes, the only way of entering a NIT is JEE Mains. They have stopped accepting state pet marks ages ago.

Hi Indus Sahu,
First of all, thanks for the question related to NIT. All the NITs accept only JEE Mains score and nothing else. JOSSA Conducts exam for IIT/NIT/IIIT and few other colleges. IIT Accepts only JEE Advanced and rest accept JEE Mains.

You cannot get into any NIT without JEE entrance exam because it is compulsory to clear JEE to get NIT. With any other exam, you cannot enter into NIT.
