  • Psychologists are not doctors but psychiatrists are. Psychologists are not allowed to administer drugs whereas psychiatrists can. A psychiatrist diagnoses and oversees therapy for patients with complex and significant mental illnesses.Patients receive psychotherapy or talk treatment from psychologists.
