The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research conducts the National Eligibility Test for the benefits of Science aspirants only. CSIR NET is an eligibility test through which candidates are selected for the post of Assistant Professor and for giving the award of Junior Research Fellowship to the deserving candidates. The exam is mainly conducted for the following subjects
Physical Science
Life Science
Earth Science
Chemical Science
Mathematical Science

The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) conducts the NET exam on the bi-yearly basis for those who want to make their career in Research and Lectureship field. Candidates having or pursuing their Master's degree in Science Stream are only eligible to take CSIR NET exam. They should have minimum 55% aggregate marks in Masters if they are from General/ OBC Category or if they belong to SC/ST/PwD categories they should have scored minimum 50% aggregate.
