Can someone provide information about AMIE exam?

AMIE is a course equivalent to degree in engineering. You can study it in distance education mode. A Diploma holder is eligible to apply. AMIE is "Associate Member of the Institution of Engineers". AMIE is a professional certification given by Institution of Engineers (India). The qualification can be earned by passing Section A, Project Work and Section B examination of the Institution. If an applicant passes both sections of the examination, he or she becomes an Associate Member of the Institution of Engineers (AM). AMIE is equivalent to B Tech. Structure Of AMIE Exams :- There are two sections, namely Section A and Section B, in this examination. Section A is common for all candidates. Under Section B.A. Particular discipline of engineering has to be chosen from among the streams offered. The full marks for examination in each subject are 100. The duration of examination for each subject is three hours. A grading system is followed for all subjects. A Diploma pass student has to appear in four subjects in Section A, whereas a non Diploma student (10+2) has to appear in 10 subjects in Section A. At one time you may appear in maximum 4 subjects. After passing Section A (Non-Diploma) or Section A (Diploma) examination in full, a candidate is required to apply for registration for Section B examination in any one engineering discipline of his/her choice in which examinations are being conducted, with a requisite fee. A Technician/Senior Technician member is required to pass a total of nine subjects (six compulsory and three optional) in Section B. You can opt maximum four subjects in one attempt. The examinations are held twice every year, called Summer and Winter examinations, normally in June and December respectively (Generally from first Saturday). Each paper is 3 hours long (unless specifically mentioned otherwise in the list of subjects). A grading system is followed for all subjects.
