No, admission to all of IIT Kanpur's courses is solely determined by merit. For BTech entrance, JEE Advanced scores are accepted. To appear for JEE Advanced, candidates must pass the JEE Main exam. The IIT Kanpur provides some dual degree programs in addition to its flagship curriculum. These programs include BSc, BS, MTech, MSc, MDes, and MBA. All course admissions are determined by the results of entrance exams, including the GATE, IIT JAM, CEED, and CAT. IIT Kanpur provides PhD programs in some specializations in addition to UG and PG courses; admission to these programs is once again entrance-based.
