Can we start PhD after MBA? Which University or college is good for a distance Phd in marketing?

There are two options FPM ( fellowship program ) which is offered by Bschools like IIMs, XLRI jamshedpur, ISB hyderabad and PhD ( doctorate) offered by Institutes like BITS pilani, Bimtech, Amity University, all the IITs and NITs. Basically FPM and PhD are not much different . Its like difference between PGDM and MBA.
