Can we write more words than the prescribed limit in the IELTS writing task 1 and task 2?

Limit for task 1 is 150 and limit for task 2 is 250.

    Task 1 expects 150 words. Task 2 expects 300 words. However, 5 words less or more is given as
    allowance, which will not affect your score. Anything beyond will surely affect the score.
