Can you explain, how the percentile is calculated?

I could not understand the percentile pattern of MAH MBA CET exam. I have scored overall 57.98 percentile in ATMA exam.

    Percentile is calculated on the basis of following formula.
    Total No. of students appeared- Your Rank/ Total No. of students appeared.
    Multiply the above score by 100.
    That is your percentile.
